G20: BRICS slam protectionism as China-US trade war dominate summit

In a separate tweet Monday, Trump described his Saturday meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Group of 20 summit in Argentina as "extraordinary", saying "relations with China have taken a BIG leap forward!"

Asked whether China would remove the 40% auto tariffs Larry Kudlow, the United States president's top economic adviser, said he "believed that commitment was made".

The White House statement said China had agreed to purchase a "very substantial" amount of American products, including "agricultural product from our farmers immediately".

At the dinner, Trump said his ties to Xi were "a very primary reason" for considering a deal possible. We can't yet determine whether both parties will be able to reach an economic trade deal within the 90-day period, as its unclear how much China is willing to sacrifice towards this deal. The US government will now hold off on raising tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods from 10% to 25% on January 1, according toa White House statement.

The remains will then be transported by train for interment at the George Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas. Bush will be buried next to wife Barbara, who died in April , and daughter Robin, who died of leukemia aged three.

Trump and Xi agreed to call a cease fire in the trade confrontation that involves hundreds of billions in bilateral trade and had roiled world markets for months.

Kudlow added that Chinese negotiators told the United States they would move "immediately" to remove tariff and non-tariff barriers without offering specifics on what sectors would be affected, but said he believed it would be tied to automobiles. And while he said the "history is not great" with China on trade, he was optimistic.

Xi has also agreed to purchase "a very substantial amount" of American goods, including agricultural, energy, industrial, and other products, in an effort to reduce the US trade deficit with China.

With the United States and China clashing over commerce, financial markets will take their lead from the results of the talks, widely seen as the most important meeting of U.S. and Chinese leaders in years. China has retaliated with tariffs on $110 billion worth of US imports. "It will have an incredibly positive impact on farming, meaning agriculture, industrial products, computers, every type of product". With the White House warning that following the 90 days, with no agreements, the tariffs would rise to 25%, these two questions could possibly play the largest role in China's decisions.

Qatar to exit OPEC in January to focus on gas production
These countries, which also include large economies such as China and India, account for 75 percent of Iran's energy export. However, the current state of affairs won't make the country's position worse, as Qatar is " isolated anyway ".

China's factory activity grew slightly in November, a private survey showed on Monday, though new export orders extended their decline in a further blow to the sector already hurt by the Sino-U.S. trade frictions.

Farmers sold $19.6 billion in products to China a year ago, according to the Farm Credit Administration Office of Regulatory Policy. Will President Xi be willing to encourage USA technology firms to set up and access similar benefits to Chinese firms, which could possibly threaten the 2025 vision?

On a political level, the agreement gives Trump some breathing room as his re-election campaign gears up.

Earlier that day, Trump signed a revamped three-way trade deal with Canada and Mexico, fulfilling a long-standing pledge, though the agreement could face headwinds in Congress. But as trade lawyer and Cato Institute scholar Scott Lincicome points out, "with no joint statement and list of actual/concrete deliverables, how will both sides (and the public) measure success or failure in 90 days?"

But there were plenty of positives too for Arsenal , with Ramsey's performance a particular highlight. We didn't miss him (against Tottenham), whereas I thought Ramsey made an impact in the second half".

The trade war had been a pall on worldwide markets as the world's two largest economies exchanged rounds of increasingly severe tariffs.
