Monsanto weedkiller that can 'probably' cause cancer found in children's breakfasts

New study finds glyphosate in kids' cereals and snack bars

The report by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) suggests large amounts of glyphosate, the key ingredient in the weed-killing pesticide Roundup, present in popular breakfast foods such as cereal, oatmeal and granola. EWG also tested 16 organic brands of oatmeal, cereal, and snack bars, detecting the chemical in five of them.

Findings recently reported by a study revealed that traces of a commonly known weed killer, Roundup, were found in portions of oat-based foods. They pointed out that the evidence definitively linking the glyphosate in Roundup to cancer is scant.

The company faces more trials involving other plaintiffs.

Jim Mattis also stated that the Taliban fighters are still hiding in homes in the Ghazni City and are waiting to be resupplied. Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, was quick to deny any involvement by the insurgents in the attack.

The France-based International Agency for Research on Cancer, which is part of the World Health Organization, classified glyphosate as a "probable human carcinogen" in 2015. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the European Union view Roundup as safe.

"We proudly stand by the safety and quality of our Quaker products". Some of those products included Back to Nature Classic Granola, Nature Valley Granola Protein Oats 'n Honey, Quaker Dinosaur Egg Instant Oats, Great Value Original Instant Oatmeal, Cheerios Toasted Whole Grain Oat Cereal, Lucky Charms, Quaker Steel Cut Oats and Kellog's Nutrigrain Strawberry Breakfast Bars. General Mills, Quaker's and Monsanto's issued statements disputing the report's findings after its release.

The German company, which owns controversial agricultural company Monsanto, says herbicides containing glyphosate are safe.

In his previous interviews with Denver TV outlets, Christopher Watts said his wife of almost six years returned home about 2 a.m. The adult woman's body was found on the property of a petroleum and natural gas exploration company, Camper said.

The environmental group said it made a decision to add a tenfold "margin of safety". In the US, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) labeled glyphosate a carcinogen in 1985, but reversed its position in 1991.

The trader also referred to a report published today in the German economic daily Wirtschaftswoche, according to which Monsanto is also threatened with other million penalties in the usa because of the weed killer Dicamba. In response to the lawsuit, Partridge gave a statement to CNN. "Comparatively, from everything that I see, this is a small risk", said Gould, who led a committee studying the safety of genetically engineered crops for the National Academy of Medicine.

A new study has revealed that Quaker oats' and other breakfast cereals consumed by children in North American contain unsafe levels of glyphosate, a herbicide which has been described as a probable cause of cancer by the World Health Organisation. In the USA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) labeled glyphosate a carcinogen in 1985, but reversed its position in 1991. Quaker does not add glyphosate during any part of the milling process. "Through the use of glyphosate, farmers are able to practise minimum tillage - protecting soil structure and nutrients and ultimately increasing the storage of soil carbon", she said.

Crude oil futures rise 0.51% on global cues
Oil prices slid Monday after inventories at a key USA crude delivery hub jumped last week, adding to demand concerns. Brent crude, the global benchmark, was down 1.1% at $71.66 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.

However, the levels that EWG considers to be high doesn't violate the legal limit set by the Environmental Protection Agency. "And essentially we're just throwing it at them". Scientists point out that even organic oats corn and soy can all be contaminated if they sit next to fields where glyphosate is sprayed or if they are processed on the same equipment as conventionally grown oats.
