Disappointment for relatives as long-awaited investigation into MH370 proves inconclusive

MH370 news: Final report into Malaysia Airlines flight leaves families in TEARS | Daily Star

Kok left open the possibility that a third party was involved in the demise of the plane.

Malaysian air traffic control authorities should have issued a distress phase earlier when they failed to make contact with Malaysia Airlines flight 370 (MH370) on March 8, 2014.

"By then, the Radar Controller should have commenced full overdue action (not later than 30 minutes after the declaration of an Uncertainty Phase)", said the report, citing further the radar controller should have notified the local ARCC that an Alert Phase existed.

"We did not find any change to their behaviour, everything was normal", Kok Soo Chon, head of the investigation team, told a press conference. Communications equipment was also turned off.

He said: "We can not establish if the aircraft was flown by anyone other than the pilot, but we can not exclude the possibility of unlawful interference by a third party".

He said investigators couldn't find any flaws with the plane and dismissed the theory that it was remotely controlled.

They examined Shah's flight simulator at home but found "no unusual activities other than game-related flight simulations". "No wreckage has been found". At the time of the crash, the plane had been carrying 221 kg of lithium-ion batteries. Kok said the investigators had looked into "over 60" allegations, theories and rumours that have surfaced over the last four years.

Massive Northern California fire gets even bigger
Two firefighters were killed: Redding fire inspector Jeremy Stoke and a bulldozer operator whose name wasn't immediately released. On Friday the fire was just 3 percent contained as ground crews, helicopters and airplanes battled the flames for a fifth day.

Malaysia's Transport Minister Anthony Loke had promised that relatives of those who were on board would be briefed about the report before it was publicly released.

Nathan said that, for the families, this report did not mark the end of the search.

The "command of the English language" between Kuala Lumpar and Ho Chi Minh airports "needs improvement", the document added.

The 449-page report concludes that the plane's sudden turns were not likely the result of a system failure, Bloomberg reports.

Ms Weeks, who moved from Perth to Queensland after the tragedy, said the search had to go on as the crash may have been due to a problem with the Boeing 777 model.

The MH370 riddle is one of the most perplexing incidents the aviation world has ever seen, but extensive searches have proved fruitless.

Despite other attempts to locate debris using satellite imagery and the mapping of ocean drifts, the 1,046-day search was called off on January 17, 2017.

Arsenal's Ramsey says contract news in 'next few weeks'
Talks over a new deal began last December, despite the Nigerian worldwide penning a five-year deal in October 2016. Arsenal have been given the green light to complete a move for Steven N'zonzi .

Only three confirmed fragments of MH370 have been found, all of them on western Indian Ocean shores, including a two-metre wing part known as a flaperon.

It was the second major search after Australia, China and Malaysia ended a $200million hunt across an area of 120,000 square kilometres a year ago.

The report concluded that several turns that took the plane off its path from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing and southwards on its long journey to the southern Indian Ocean were likely made manually, not by the autopilot.

Bizarrely, there were no reports of bad weather or distress calls.

"In this regard, I would like to record our utmost appreciation and gratitude to the Malaysian ICAO Annex 13 Safety Investigation Team for MH370 for its meticulous and transparent investigation".

Federal Bureau of Investigation and Interpol flew in to help and 40 ships worked around the clock, with 34 aircrafts flying during daylight hours. "It's not over until MH370 is found", she said.

The search resumed in October 2015 but the investigation was constantly hampered by bad weather.

Trump secures concessions to avoid US-EU trade war
Recently, Trump has threatened a 25% tariff on European autos , a warning that seems to have been staved off. Trump is tweeting that trade partners need to either negotiate a "fair deal, or it gets hit with Tariffs".

Scattered pieces of debris have washed ashore on beaches in Africa and Indian Ocean islands, indicating a remote stretch of the ocean where the plane probably crashed. The plane did not have a malfunction or defect that could explain the disappearance, he said.
