Images Show North Korea Dismantling Key Facilities at Satellite Launching Station

US-Led Sanctions Still Crippling North Korea's Economy

"North Korea still has not disclosed or offered to dismantle facilities that produce or store nuclear or missile systems, or the means to transport the missiles".

The June 12 summit produced little specific commitments put on paper, but it is presumed to have resulted in several verbal agreements.

Later Tuesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Mr. Trump's point man in the nuclear talks with Mr. Kim, would not confirm the reports of Sohae's destruction, though he said the step would be consistent with the broad outlines of the discussions in Singapore.

Satellite images indicate that North Korea has begun to dismantle its primary rocket launch site, but Gen. Jack Keane said while it may be a step in the right direction, it may not be the kind of progress the USA should be making.

38 North said satellite images from Friday showed the roof and supporting structure partially removed from the rail-mounted processing structure for the launch pad and numerous vehicles were present, including a large crane.

Two dead including gunman, 13 wounded in Toronto shooting
Police confirmed Monday that two people died. "There was quite a bit of blood coming from both of their legs", she said. Glenn Russell told CNN the shooting happened outside a restaurant on the corner of Logan and Danforth Avenues.

"We're all pursuing the denuclearization of North Korea and a new future of prosperity, security and peace on the Korean Peninsula and all of Asia", Trump told a VFW convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

There are mixed views of the significance of the reported dismantling, highlighting the lack of information available on the structure and mechanics of any agreements made between the U.S. and North Korea. And he worries that what he sees as Washington's unrealistic expectations for the North's complete denuclearization will doom any hope for peaceful resolution to the threat of nuclear war.

"Since these facilities are believed to have played an important role in the development of technologies for the North's intercontinental ballistic missile program, these efforts represent a significant confidence-building measure on the part of North Korea", it said in a report.

"The fact of the matter is that a year ago, on President Trump's watch, North Korea made significant advances in its ballistic missile technology, achieving what many experts agree is a nuclear-capable operational ICBM", Menendez added.

"We still need to monitor and verify what it is exactly they're doing, and we still want further steps like declaration of all their facilities as a real indication that they're interested in denuclearisation", Dr Narang told PM.

Israel passes Jewish nation-state law, strips Arabic of official language status
Media reports said a clause downgrades Arabic from an "official language" to one with "special status". Adalah, a legal centre for Arabs living in Israel, called the law "illegitimate" and "colonial".

"At the very end of our meeting, I said to Chairman Kim - good relationship, good feeling - I said, "I would really appreciate if you could do that", Trump said.

"We got back our great fallen heroes, the remains sent back today, already 200 got sent back", he said at a June 23 rally in Duluth, Minnesota.

In a sign of Washington's impatience with what it sees as North Korean foot-dragging on the denuclearization issue, Pompeo was in NY last week urging United Nations member states to keep tough economic sanctions in place to pressure Kim into moving forward.

Daily NK's researchers also found the price of rice surprisingly stable for a North Korean economy that contracted by 3.5 percent past year, which might be further evidence of a plan to insulate North Korea from the most painful and politically destabilizing effects of the sanctions regime.

A South Korean delegation that traveled to NY over the past weekend said Seoul needed to be exempted from some worldwide sanctions against the North to implement the Panmunjom Declaration.

White House: 'Threat' from Russian Federation still exists
The US President even went so far as to name a syndrome after himself, apparently without realising the obvious irony. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from SC , said he was happy to hear that Sanders had clarified Trump's comment.

The DMZ was designated as a buffer zone, but the areas to the north and south of it are heavily fortified.
