Tear gas halts Tour de France amid French farmers' protest

Omar Fraile wins Stage 14

The Tour de France is the world's biggest and most iconic cycling race. Thomas, Froome and the green jersey Peter Sagan were among the riders who needed medical attention - including eye-drops - while the race was neutralised shortly after the 30km mark.

Sky has uncommon wealth, vast ambition and an ability to stock its roster with riders with the talent to lead any squad in the peloton--all of which has created an unexpected headache.

Mitchelton-Scott's Luke Durbridge used Twitter to describe some of the behaviour on Saturday as "disgraceful" - comments which were appreciated by the four-time Tour victor.

Froome, chasing a record-equalling fifth Tour title, will no doubt have ideas on where he might snatch yellow away, but Thomas warned he would not give up the jersey easily.

With one week remaining, Froome sits second in the overall standings, 1 minute and 39 seconds behind Sky teammate Geraint Thomas. "We just concentrate on the last week", said Thomas.

Trump and Rouhani trade angry threats
Iran has met protests with security forces and violence time and time again, but the unrest has continued on a regular basis throughout 2018.

'I don't know how people are going to react, but it's not going to calm people down, ' he said.

Eurosport is the home of the Tour de France.

So far, Thomas and Froome have not attacked each other, but that uneasy truce could be put to the test as the race enters its decisive phase.

In a statement, Brailsford said: 'Obviously Gianni has left the race, which is very disappointing.

"We expect a lot of attacks from the start".

Putin summit: US leader cautious ahead of Helsinki talks
He has repeatedly noted that Putin denies it, while also saying that it is alleged to have taken place before he became president. Trump called the private talks with the Kremlin leader a "good start". "I'm not going in with high expectations".

Sky has been the dominant team at the Tour since Bradley Wiggins became the first rider to win the three-week race in 2012.

The commissaires classed the incident as a "particularly serious aggression" and threw the 24-year-old Italian off the race shortly after the stage finished. "They won't attack from the starting line", Steels says, adding that the only instance where an immediate attack could occur is if one team has four or five riders in the top 20.

Race organizers have struggled to deal with angry fans protesting Froome's participation.

"It's up to all other riders to make up time on us and dislodge us from the position we're in."
"You want to recover as much as possible", Thomas said.

The Tour is no ordinary sporting event and Team Sky is no ordinary team.

Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin launches spacecraft higher than ever
It's coming, but we've got our eye on the prize, and we've got to make sure we understand our system through and through. Those missions will rely on the bigger, more powerful New Glenn rocket still under development.

"I still feel fresh, and I feel solid going into the last few days".
