US service member killed in 'insider attack' in Afghanistan

North Atlantic Treaty Organisation did not release the identity of the American soldier killed or provide further details about where the incident took place.

The apparent insider attack occurred in a local airport in Tirin Kowt city, capital of southern Afghanistan's Uruzgan province. On Twitter, the Taliban also gave Uruzgan as the location.

They became more rare as the number of USA troops shrunk and as the military coalition added security precautions.
