Trump warns Harley-Davidson: 'We won't forget'

Harley-Davidson To Shift Production Overseas To Offset EU Tariffs

Trump's current attacks came after Harley announced on Monday that the company would shift some of its production outside of the USA due to Trump's trade battles and the European Union's retaliatory tariffs against the US.

"These worldwide facilities exist to support more competitive pricing by eliminating much of the tax and tariff burden imposed on fully assembled Harley-Davidson motorcycles imported into key global markets". "We want the tariffs removed", Trump said. Those tariffs are a retaliation for trade penalties imposed by the Trump administration.

Asked if Trump still feels that tariffs are the best option, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Monday that "the European Union is attempting to punish US workers with unfair and discriminatory trade policies, and President Trump will continue to push for free, fair and reciprocal trade in hopes that the EU will join is in that".

Trump says in tweets Tuesday that the company had already announced it was closing a Kansas City plant.

Trump gets new Supreme Court pick as critical 'swing vote' resigns
With the news that conservative Justice Anthony Kennedy is to retire, a huge opportunity has landed in Donald Trump's lap. Today, just over 30 years later, Justice Kennedy announced his retirement in a letter to US President Donald Trump .

Last year, Harley-Davidson announced it would build a plant in Thailand after Trump pulled out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal, which would have abolished tariffs on their motorcycles across 40 percent of the world's economy.

Rep. Jim Renacci aligned himself with President Donald Trump, criticizing Harley-Davidson's decision to move some jobs overseas. "Now they are trying to use the tariffs to excuse and deflect from that decision".

The U.S. and China are also volleying back and forth over tariffs. If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end - they surrendered, they quit!

Trump said he's getting other countries to reduce and eliminate tariffs and trade barriers, citing India as an example, and to open up markets.

Kane joins Lineker and Hurst as England canter to biggest win
Kane is also the first Englishman to have scored more than one goal in the first two matches of a World Cup for England . England face Belgium in the final Group G match on Thursday night (1am Friday, Thailand time).

Harley-Davidson said the move overseas was to avoid European Union tariffs, not to sell in the U.S. market.

Trump criticized Harley-Davidson on Twitter, saying the overseas move upset employees and customers, and would be bad for the company's long-term prospects.

According to Harley-Davidson, the move "is not the company's preference, but represents the only sustainable option to make its motorcycles accessible to customers in the European Union and maintain a viable business in Europe". "Taxes just a Harley excuse - be patient!" "I understand that the President is a tough negotiator, but I urge him to consider a more targeted approach that protects American workers and businesses".
