Listen to children who've just been separated from parents at border

A two-year-old Honduran girl cries as her mother is searched and detained near the US-Mexico border

The President's administration announced the family separation policy in May as a part of a "zero tolerance" crackdown on illegal immigration to the United States.

On Tuesday, Politico explicitly backed the former US attorneys by stating that "there is no law requiring families be separated at the border, only a policy established by the Trump administration that could just as easily be rescinded".

Laura Bush, the former first lady of the USA, expressed her rejection of the policy.

"It is not just that America is a nation of immigrants - it is that since our founding we have embraced certain core values".

Republicans on Capitol Hill frantically searched on Tuesday (June 19) for ways to end the administration's policy of separating families after illegal border crossings, ahead of a visit from President Donald Trump to discuss broader immigration legislation.

"Well, we have an orchestra here. What's missing is a conductor", he says in the clip. "I moved away from Washington nearly a decade ago, but I know there are good people at all levels of government who can do better to fix this".

Dozens Killed as Saudi-Led Forces Launch Yemen Port Strikes
Almost 40 people have been killed in fighting outside Yemen's Hudaydah port, medical sources say. The Iran-backed rebels claimed in a statement that the missile hit a Saudi air base.

"I don't think the answer to family separation is to not enforce the law".

House GOP leaders are revising their legislation amid a public outcry over the administration's "zero tolerance" approach to illegal crossings. Children are not detained with their parents when those parents are facing a criminal charge, as per US protocol. "Now you don't have to prosecute them, but then we're not prosecuting them for coming in illegally". "They can not be reduced to media soundbites", she said in another tweet.

"The United States will not be a migrant camp, and it will not be a refugee holding facility".

"We don't want people pouring into our country", he told Tuesday's gathering.

Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, said she had warned during the campaign that Trump's hard-line immigration stance would result in family separations.

"When countries abuse us by sending people up - not their best - we're not going to give any more aid to those countries", he said.

Pro-EU lawmaker in Britain's Conservative party: 'We could collapse government'
Calls for MPS to have a "meaningful vote" on Brexit are nothing to do with parliamentary scrutiny; they are about stopping Brexit. He said: "Theresa May has gone back on her word and offered an amendment that takes the meaning out of the meaningful vote".

"Border security and immigration enforcement are complex topics".

Under the policy, adults who try to cross into the USA illegally, many of whom plan to seek asylum, are placed in custody and undergo criminal prosecution.

DHS has rejected claims that it has a blanket policy to separate families at the border, stating Monday that it will separate adults and minors under certain circumstances, including: when it's unable to determine the familial relationship, when it determines a child may be at risk with the parent or legal guardian or when a parent or legal guardian is referred for criminal prosecution.

In Texas, Senator Merkley said at a news conference that "hurting kids to get legislative leverage is unacceptable".

The family separations, highlighted by videos of youngsters detained in cages and an audiotape of wailing children, have sparked an outcry at home and strong condemnation overseas. Her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said she believes "we need to be a country that follows all laws", but also one "that governs with heart".

ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER: While Trump and Sessions definitely put this policy to work, the chief architect of the plan is White House hardliner Stephen Miller who is a virulent white nationalist and keeps a low profile while whispering his racist views in the president's ear.

Birkir Bjarnason and Hordur Magnusson hold Lionel Messi and Argentina
And aside from his penalty miss, Messi made some unwanted World Cup history by failing to score from no less than 11 shots. They needed an own goal and a penalty kick to complete the scoreline, while the African nation did next to nothing.
