'Kaala' records lowest ever opening for Rajinikanth film

‘Only Thalaivar can do this’: Rajinikanth’s 'Kaala' becomes first Indian film to be released in Saudi Arabia in decades

As the admirers celebrated the release of the much-awaited film by dancing to the beat of the drums, the skies too opened up to match the footsteps of Rajini lovers. Vishal adds that "Kaala" may well surprise naysayers. Kaala's release seemingly more impacted by politics than even Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavat, that was released after the Supreme Court's directions. After getting postponed several times, the film has released amid lukewarm buzz among audience. The promos of Kaala haven't established a connect with Hindi audiences.

"Kaala has to compete with a Steven Spielberg franchise Jurassic World which is a huge event".

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty, who has worked repeatedly with Rajini on "Ra.One", "Robot" etc, has also been quoted saying that Rajini's politics could be a negative force in his career.

Premier League matches are coming to Amazon Prime Video in 2019
BT's deal means that BT Sport will, for the first time, show multiple mid-week Premier League matches on the same evening. Pay-TV giant Sky has for years been the home of Premier League games in Britain, which are a cornerstone of its business.

Meanwhile, theatres in Karnataka are avoiding screening "Kaala", amid protests.

Rajinikanth's "Kaala" tells the story of a slumlord in Mumbai's Dharavi slum who fights for the rights of oppressed Tamils and takes on a politician.

"The situation is under control and there is no problem in showing the film after the police took away the protesters from the theatres and multiplexes to avoid any untoward incident", the Urvashi theatre owner said.

Well, all the fans of the Superstar and the genuine movie lovers have been shocked by the reports.

Regretting that thousands of fans in the state, especially in cosmopolitan Bengaluru were being denied their legitimate right to watch a Rajinikanth movie, Sambargi said a bad precedence was being set despite the court's directive to allow its screening under police protection, as the exhibitors fear reprisal from the fringe elements and irrational protestors.
